It’s important to understand the terminology when it comes to medical marijuana so that you can make sure you are purchasing the strain that is right for your health issues. Knowing the correct terms can be useful to the breeders, growers, and consumers of the plant. 

Indica Vs. Sativa

Although both strains have somewhat of a mind and body effect, Indica is usually known as a body high and Sativa is more commonly a mind high. Indica relaxes you and Sativa may provide you with more energy. 

Hybrids 

Hybrids, on the other hand, are a mix between the two cannabis plants — Indica and Sativa. 

They are a great way to get a balanced combination of the two and will provide you with the results of both a mind and body high. Sometimes depending on the way the strain was combined, you’ll find that there is more Sativa than Indica, or vs. versa. When it’s a perfect blend of the two, we call that a “true” hybrid. 

Hybrid Consumers

If you are interested in trying hybrids, we recommend starting slow and remember that the effects of cannabis are oftentimes a matter of trial and error. Hybrids are great for first-time consumers who aren’t yet aware of how different strains make them feel. They can also be great for those medical patients who are needing to use cannabis regularly. Hybrids can help balance the effects of cannabis, so that the consumer can tolerate it throughout the whole day, as opposed to being too relaxed and tired, or too energetic.
